Royal Pains 3

It had been about four months since Prince Simba's death. King Kuwataka was still tormented by Simba's death, and Mufasa and Sarabi had become shells of their former selves- thin, silent, and downright weak in the mind. But then the day came- Zira gave birth to her firstborns, Kuwataka's secondborns. Four babies, beautiful and healthy. The pride was made to wait as the king fetched his brother- for he wanted Mufasa to see his nephews first, let it be something special. Even the orange father had not set his eyes on them.

When Mufasa saw them he gushed and fell to the ground. "Oh, Kuwataka! They are beautiful! Have you decided names?" Kuwataka's light olive eyes gleamed d and he smiled with a nod. "Yes. The light orange girl with her mothers' stripe- Kula, for I could just eat her up." His voice softened and he gave her a lick. "The boy with the grey stripe and Zira's eyepatches is Atajali- for he will bring honor to our traditions, being firstborn." "The dark brown female will be Hasira- for my anger has ruled me before, and I swore never to allow that again after becoming king."

He paused and sighed. "The... the scruffy male with dark emerald eyes will be called Mwii." Now, Zira snarled. "You will do nothing but add salt to that wound! Let him go, you don't do anyone good when you yak on about him!" Kuwataka looked away for a moment. "He was not your son, Zira. You have no clue what it is like to lose a child. The day they die, you die." He blew ebony mane away from his face and spoke. "Salt to the wound? Call him Chumvi, then. He will answer to Mwii when I speak to him... but Chumvi is what everyone else can call him." Kuwataka's eyes closed and his paws traced the babe's fur. "I love them, Zira. They are perfect."
